Homeless Shelter Macon GA, Domestic Violence | Macon Rescue Mission

WELCOME

Dear Friends and Visitors:

Thanks for visiting our website and Yes, you can make a difference, we all can!

The Macon Rescue Mission may well be the best kept secret in town. We are proud to be the original faith based residential program for men in Middle Georgia – We are home grown. We are not affiliated with any national or international organization. We are a product of true Southern Hospitality and neighborly love! Our residential building clearly states our mission – Jesus Cares! He is our Light who sees us through our darkest hours. He is the Reason we serve the least, the last and the lost. We are charged with carrying out His Will.

“Which is the first of all the commandments?” Jesus replied, “The first is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no greater commandment than these.” MATT 12:28-31

The Men we serve are homeless. I have yet to find the one person or organization who truly understands all the reasons behind homelessness. A definite by-product of homelessness is substance abuse or vice versa. The men in our program have one job while they are with us and that is RECOVERY. We want to rehabilitate them to become a worthy part of society again.

The Women and Children we serve are special. They are victims of domestic violence. Our Dove Center at the Macon Rescue Mission was established in 1981 to serve the female victims and their children. Some of the programs we offer them are parallel to the Men’s division, yet specific programs are especially designed for them to be able to deal with the emotional issues involved in their particular situations.

Of the thousands we have served over the years, we have an untold number of success stories, whether, it’s a painter, a carpenter, a floor man, a instrument specialist, a cross country driver. We are proud of them and we try hard every day to grow those numbers. That is why I need your help!

We are always looking for donations! Your time, talent or treasures are always appreciated. Our Bargain Center is one of our many sources keeping us afloat. Remember, someone’s discards may very well be someone else’s treasure! Nothing is too large, you call and we haul! Your donations are tax deductible.

Please accept my invitation to come by and visit, I know you will be pleasantly surprised at the stewardship we have for all your generosity.

God Bless,
Jeffrey J. Nicklas, Sr.
